Displacement boards allow you to travel much greater distances on water than that of a traditional board. Because the features of the board are similar to that of a boat look, a paddler can travel crazy distances with ease. Not to say you want to attempt this 300 mile epic paddle on your first outing but who’s to say you can’t work up to your own personal record. With a displacement hull you have a much more constant glide which is of course accelerated when catching consistent conditions. The combination of an appropriate displacement hull and a gradual rocker on the board is a huge factor when choosing a board. Both rocker, and hull displacement are great options for flatwater touring or open waters on lakes and rivers. The V shaped nose on these boards will also allow you to cut waves in half and propel you on your way towards your goal. Tahoe SUP, 404, Hovie, Lakeshore, Imagine,Liquid Shredder and Rogue offer amazing solutions to cut your ride time down and up your distance.
